Big answer to prayer and more prayer needed

Update from Julie's mom:

"Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation." Praise the Lord for another need that has been met! God has given Julie and Michael a 2006 Honda van! We are so thankful for the ones who so graciously gave this van, and we are praising and thanking God for such a wonderful gift! Julie had a good day....still battling the nausea and rash...but was able ...to sit up for several hours today. We watched church on TV together this morning and did our daily care routine. Please continue to pray for complete healing with no infection and the upcoming surgeries. Pray for the transport and doctor's visit on Tuesday. Julie asked that everyone please pray that the doctor will not have to adjust the pins on her left leg at the next visit in two weeks. It is very painful, so we are praying it will be healing correctly and not need adjusting. Also, pray the therapists will have the wisdom to know exactly what Julie needs and will help the healing process. Continue to pray about wheelchair accessible vehicle or lift, job situations, and health insurance. We need prayer for God's peace and encouragement, too. Again, we are so thankful for all God's people praying and for God showing His power and mercy in so many ways! Please keep praying!

Latest Julie update

Here is an update from Julie's mom:

The therapist came and did an assessment and a good therapy session with Julie. We are so thankful we finally got someone to come to the home where we are staying. Julie was truly blessed by all the visitors from East Side Baptist Church today! We are thankful for the support of our church and so many other churches, family, and all the fam...ily of God! We are also praising God that there is a good prospect on a vehicle for Michael and Julie...please pray that everything will work out. Continue to pray for the wheelchair accessible van that will be needed for several months and for complete healing of Julie's body. Julie will be going to the orthopedic doctors on February 15, and she asked that we please pray they will not have to adjust the pins in her left leg, pray she will be ready for the surgeries, and pray they will be able to do the next surgeries soon. Pray for the therapy to help Julie gain use and motion in her arm, elbow, and both her legs. Also, please pray for job situations and health insurance coverage. We still need God's power to show forth in many things now and things ahead. Once again, thank you for your prayers, and we ask you to please continue to lift up your hearts and voices in prayer for Julie and Michael. "Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us." (Psalm 62:8) Praise God from whom ALL blessings flow!

Lord willing, Julie will be able to return to Pensacola in a few weeks. Her current address is:

Julie is being discharged

The latest plan is for Julie to be discharged on Monday or Tuesday. She will stay in the Birmingham area to be close to UAB for a few weeks. Please continue to pray as many decisions need to be made regarding her follow up care and the logistics of returning to Pensacola.

Current donations via this site are at just under $3,800. Thank you to all who have given so sacrificially in many ways to bless Mike and Julie and their families.

More on Julie

Update from Julie's brother today:

"Today was a travel day for Julie! We wish it was to Pensacola but alas it was to radiology and then back and then to a new room. We are back on the 9th floor on the recovery side of TBICU. Julie had a restless night last night. She is coming to terms with the pain that she will be facing the next few weeks. The jostling about today also aggravated this pain. The docs are working at getting the balance of pain meds right to get her through the day and night. The physical therapist were at her today and had her moving the right leg, flexing, rotating her leg, and stretching/bending her foot. They also checked sensory impulses on her left leg which were good. She also wiggled her toes on her left foot and moved her fingers on her left arm!Her flap is looking great! You can already see the skin beginning to form and fuse together! Continued prayers for endurance, strength, healing and protection from infection... Thank you for all the encouraging stories of people who God has miraculously brought through times like these. It is a great reminder of what is possible..."

Elbow surgery

Julie is going into surgery this morning to repair her shattered left elbow. It should take 4-6 hours. Please pray for her body to continue to heal. The graft on her left leg is looking good.
